Is believeing in God 'Just in case' truly believeing in God?

I see this often. Someone saying that they believe in God 'just in case' or that they know someone who does. My question is: Is that truly believing? Is belief through doubt enough to get you into Heavens gates?

  • No, because he'd know you were only paying lip service through fear and never truly believed.

  • No I don't think it is, it is a precaution of sorts......

  • I think you either believe and have faith or you don't. Obviously we are human and sometimes there are questions or doubts, but I think that is a very different thing from just believing "in case". JMO

  • No it is. True belief takes your whole heart.

  • IT is a believe or don't kind of thing. SOme people believe without calling it God.

  • I'm not sure it is. It seems quite dishonest, IMO...

  • No it isn't just like "becoming a christian" and doing whatever you want because you think you can't lose your salvation (e.g. "once saved always saved"). This is fool-hearty thinking and many of these "Christians" are in for a rude awakening!

  • I think the whole idea of ego massagine belief being the only thing that counts pretty ridiculous anyway... so who cares.
