  • Just take it away. Tell her that the paci fairy needs it for another baby. Then sweep the house for any. By weaning it away, it will take longer. If none are in the house and easily accessible, it will prevent a relapse and from you giving in. It will be a tough couple of days but it will pass.
    Start in the morning.

  • At this point...you will probably have to go cold turkey. She has had for so long and possibly developed a attachment to it. It is a comfort item for her now. You will need to replace the comfort item with something else: stuffed animal, blanket, etc.

  • well with my kids i just took it away and delt with a couple nights of screaming but they were younger just after a year so they couldnt understand why i took it. maybe sit her down and explain that binkies are for babies and shes now a big girl and you need to take her binkies and give them to all the babies. gather them all up with her and let her put them in a plastic baggie for the babies. then when shes not around to see you throw them away. or if you have a friend or family memeber who has a baby maybe let her give her binkies to the baby. good luck.

  • my daughter is two and 3 weeks ago we went and got a whole bunch of balloons and tied all her pacifiers to it and let them go. we invited the grandparents and made a big deal of it. she did surprisingly well, she asked for it a few times but thats it. shes over it now

  • Simple just throw it away. In my house 1st birthday ALL bottles and pacifiers go in the trash.

  • give it to her at naptime an at bedtime for awhile..then slowly stop giving it to her at bed/naptime..let her have it only at night..then each day u just stop using it til she forgets about it..i do recommend cold turkey cause sometimes they will substitute it with their thumb when they go cold turkey an then u will have an even harder time trying to get rid of the thumb..

  • I cut the tip off from my son's binky. He would try it, take it out, look at it, put it back in, take it out. Then he threw it to the floor and said eww! after that i still had it in the open for a couple days. i'll give it to him when he wants it, he would try it and toss it, saying eww. he would just remind himself that his binky is broken... took about 3 days.
