What do your step kids call you?

Would that carry over to being a step-grandparent?

My step kids have always called me by my first name, I think I want my step grandson to call me by my name too. I can tell he is not sure what to call me (he is 4).

I am not ready to be called Grandma, Granny or anything like that, I am only 33!
I think it is cute when he calls my son "Uncle" b/c they are only like 6 months apart, and he is a whole year older than my daughter, his "Aunt". She is due in January w/baby #2.

  • I don't have step kids but I would be sad if I had to call my grandma by her name. It would make me feel like I wasn't REALLY a grandchild. She works really hard to stop us from feeling like that. My youngest cousin calls our grandma G-gangsta dawg-ma since "grandma sounds like its for old people" by the way. lol

  • they call me mom. we don't differentiate between step, biological, or adopted. My children are my children regardless of how they came to me
