Why doesn't Santa visit the children in poorer countries?

Every year my kids send those shoe boxes filled with stuff overseas. They understand it's because those children don't have toys or much of the basic necessities. This year my son asked me why if Santa comes to our house, why doesn't he go to those childrens house? Good question. How would you respond?

  • blah blah blah, be honest from day one. Sorry, but some of us enjoy giving our children the fun of believing in Santa.

OP- I'd just tell him Santa could always use some extra help. In other countries kids have VERY LITTLE, and that even Santa cannot give them everything they may need.

  • "He does, but sometimes Santa needs a hand. There are only so many elves in the North Pole, maybe if you keep helping out Santa will make you an honorary elf one day". Or something like this.

  • Because life is not fair.

Aren't you grateful to have been born in a wealthy country?

  • Because Santa's not real...

Down vote all you want, but if people were honest from day one, these questions wouldn't arise!
