How much should a 2 weeks old eat??

  • total 2-2.5oz.per pound of body weight in a general rule of thumb. Usually they will snack on about 1.5-2 oz at each feeding. just count diapers 6-10 wet diapers a day. If you are getting that then they are getting enough.

  • three to four oz every 2 to 3 hours. If you are nursing the baby will tell you when he is done.

  • The baby will refuse more if it is full. If he/she is content and making plenty of wet diapers it is fine.

  • Could be every 30 minutes, could be every 3 hours and it can vary from day to day and week to week... just feed on demand.
