prader willi "menu" ?

I am having trouble finding much of ANYTHING online.... I am attempting to help a friend of mine who is doing normal respite foster care right now but will soon be getting "upgraded" to special needs care too. On her paperwork there's a few essay style Q's and one is something about a sample menu for a 10 year old PWS child. How many calories a day is standard and how many hours can be between snacks/meals?

  • Wow, that sounds like a research paper question. I think she should answer that she would follow the menu developed by the child's doctor or nutritionist. Each one of those children need special individualized care. I'll check the AAP website and see if I can find any better info for ya.

  • http://www.pwsausa.org/postion/HCGuide/HCG.htm. Not much info, I think it really is individualized. God Bless your friend!

  • Here's a small article that offers some suggestions, but I agree with the above poster about consulting a doctor as well.
