  • If it is closed then it will either feel like a tiny indent in the cervix if you've never given birth vaginal or straight like a fish's mouth if you have given birth vaginally.

    If it's open then the opening will feel larger and you may be able to even slightly insert your finger tip.

    It can be a little confusing when you're first charting cervical position but the cervical mucus will help and it will get easier as you notice a pattern each month.

    When it's high and open you should have wet, egg white like cervical mucus. When it's closed it will either be sticky, creamy, or dry.

    And NO you do NOT need a doctor to tell what your own body is doing every single month!!
