Is Obama slowly pushing a police state under the guise of Public Safety?

Washington insists on perpetrating the illusion that a Christian grandmother in Iowa poses the same possible national security threat as a 19-year-old Yemenite exchange student majoring in Islamic studies. Hence, America is squandering precious resources and manpower, as well as abrogating basic civil liberties and humiliating its population, in order to appease the sensitivities of the Muslim lobby.

Moreover, the new TSA procedures mark another major step in Mr. Obama's drive to impose state socialism. If anyone else did what TSA agents do regularly, they rightly would be charged with sexual assault. Mr. Obama has done the unthinkable: He has extended the federal government's reach into our most private, intimate body parts. Big Brother not only watches us in the nude, he can routinely molest us at will.

Interesting read.

  • i read the article. I also put on a question about traveling and i don't think its everyone. i thinks its extreme situations. but i do not agree with it. i have no problem with profiling them. but we can never be too safe. the real question is this what if the blond hair blue guy has a bomb and he is not screened will we be feeling the same way and making sure everyone is screened. i think screening is fine not patting down and taking off clothes. i am really torn. they can use kids. noone is stopping them from doing that. it really does sadden me that this country has come to this. we just have to wait for 2012.

What if he is the one who walks into McDonalds while you are eating with your kids and detonates himself? Where do we reach the point that not everything can be prevented? Do we start the same procedures at all fast food joints then?

  • This isn't paranoia. The FBI now has vans outfitted to see into people's houses, through their clothes. Whatever happened to due process, to fourth amendment rights? Why is Obama not stopping this?

For all of you that were so against the Patriot Act, people listening to phone conversations in the name of safety, an awful lot of you seem okay with people seeing you naked and possibly having sex with your hubby/SO in the name of safety.

  • OH, and to answer your question, OP, I don't believe he's pushing a police state. He's just not doing anything to stop it.
