Where I live having an AA/AS, unless you're a nurse, is as good as a High School Diploma.

Is it the same where you live?

But If you get a BA or BS you can really do well. How about where you live?

  • Around here, an associates doesn't get you much more than you could get with just your high school diploma. I'm talking about pay of course. There are some jobs that may require the AA/ AS but you won't be getting paid anymore than many of the jobs that only require a diploma or even GED. I agree with SweetLuci, gotta keep the future in mind. :)

  • it really seems to depend on what degree exactly....early childhood ed, get a job tomorrow. accounting/business....get an entry level clerk job.

  • It depends on the degree and the job the person is seeking. If you get a degree with a major in Liberal Arts, then that doesn't usually prepare you for a job, it prepares you to continue in college to get your BA or BS. If you get a specific degree that is specifically meant to lead to a job-then you won't have a problem. It's important to think ahead to what job it will lead to, not just take classes because you have an interest in a specific field.
