When you have your 8 week ultrasound. Are you able to hear the baby's heartbeat?

  • Sometimes, not all the time... depends on the baby, where they are positioned, the diagnostic tool used, and the expertise of the person using it. There were a few times my doctor had a hard time locating the heartbeat, because it was off in some corner somewhere, sometimes i even panicked... but honestly it truly depends on the patience of the doctor, and the variables listed above...

  • Not always. I had two healthy, normal pregnancies and with both babies, could not hear heart beat until 10-11 weeks.
