  • I have used sign with all 4 of my older ones and am starting now with my 5th. I started signing with them around 4-6 months and then they started signing back around 9 months. I knew some basic words from some child development classes I took in college, and anytime I needed a new word I looked it up on the ASL site. I will recommend that you stay away from "baby signs" and use ASL, which is a recognized second language.
