getting red dye out of a white sweater

Ok while doing the laundry a red sock got in , well my husbands fav. white sweater with black on it became the victim of a vicious color change. I have tried spray and wash 2 times and am stumped , don't want to use bleach due to the black on the sweater too. What do i do?

  • Ouch. Hurry and buy a new sweater for him before he notices it. :)

  • You can get stuff by the dyes, called "dye out" or something - not sure if that would work for you or not. You can bleach it, just have to be super careful not to get it on the black - don't soak it, place it and rinse it - long tedious process but I've had to do it. Either that or buy a bottle of red dye and make it a good solid red color!
