Is polar bear a racial slur?

I was in another group and it was brought to our attention that saying polar bear is a racial slur. We were simply talking about polar bears...period, so we had no idea that it was a racial slur. So my question is, how many people know that saying polar bear is a racial slur?

  • If I'm called cracker....is ritz the same thing or bad? Just kidding! I swear I've not heard the cracker slur before until I read a post earlier that was deleted. What's safe anymore? I don't think of my self as racist and I find so many of the posts I'm seeing today really sad. CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

  • really? what's it a racial slur for? I'm curious!

all I can think of is that maybe "black on the inside white on the outside" since polar bears appear white but their skin is black.

Polar Bear Whites Refers to their skin tone.
