Can We Stop Now?

This is mostly pointed to Christians but anyone can comment and hopefully I can word this in such a way the responses will be respectful. Ok.. McCain did not win. Our new president is Barack Obama... can we stop calling him and asking if he's the anti-christ? Can we stop bashing him? Can we do what the bible calls us as believers to do and pray for him? How can we show Christ's love if we are disobeying the bible and being disrespectful to our new president? And if your wondering.. no I did not vote for him but I will respect and pray for him.

  • Anon@1:32- just because you have a right to free speech doesn't mean it is always wise to invoke it. Sometimes, it is best to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

The right to free speech wasn't fought and died for so you could smack talk, it was to keep people from being oppressed; using it as an excuse to do the oppressing yourself was never the intention.

  • Honestly, it has quiet down now! Take a look at questions under the NEWEST questions tab....
We are only have one McCain/Obama question now per page... (maybe 2). However compare to this morning it's nothing....

People are moving on, because all the questions are just all the same stuff over and over and many have said their peace and are okay now... The few that still need to work it out, are there and they are going to be there for a while. The best thing to do is not add fuel to it and let it go!

  • I think it has calmed down . For which I am glad. We do need to pray and bless our new president whether or not we voted for him .
Anon above this post: That is your proactive to complain about the new president however complaining really doesnt help you or anyone else. It just upsets you more. Since this post was for Christians. Please recall what happened to the Israelites when they kept complaining. They had a long 40 yr journey. The were not satisfied with the manna, the quail, the water out of the rock and so forth. We must not complain but bless our president , not curse but pray for him no matter what!

  • anon423: as i said.. it was mostly pointed as Christians and as Christians.. followers of Christ we are called to respect and pray for him. Also when we post stuff like that.. it makes all Christians look bad and it makes it harder to share Christ. But yeah.. you're right.. it is ur right.
