Don't understand "bump"

Still fairly new to this type of thing. I see 'bumps' going on all over the place but don't understand WHY people BUMP a question. Help!

  • Bump a question if you think it's a good one, you think the woman deserves many answers, or it's an important issue that you think will benefit others as well as the poster. Giving a bump is like a high five! lol :)

  • Thank You! Can I respond to a question and THEN bump it?

  • People bump questions that they don't have an answer to because it bumps it to the top of the pile.
