Hot Cocoa -- do you make it with water or milk?

I prefer it with milk, but will make the instant kind with water on occasion. If I do make it with water, I usually splash some milk in before enjoying.

  • I always make it with half & half cream. Thanks for reminding me. It's chilly here, and that sure sounds good.

  • This is how I make mine:
2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
    3/4 cup powdered sugar
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
    1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer
    1/8 teaspoon salt

I mix it all together and store in a container. I mix 3 tablespoons with boiling water and use a candy cane to stir. Very yummy found the recipe online.

  • I only make cocoa from scratch (because I don't eat that creepy edible-oil-product fake creamer that the powders are made of) so I use milk always...and a splash of cream if I have any.
