matrinty leave?

I work part time at a car wash. Im so worried about getting fired from my job. Im a few weeks pregnant, i know i have ways to go but my co worker was telling me that i wont get marinty leave cause im part time. is this true? im so worried about getting fired i really need this job.

  • Depends if your employer offers benefits to part-time employees. You need to check with them on that. When I worked part time I had no benefits at all.

  • So their no way i would be able to fight it at all? cause my employer doesn't give me benfits.

  • That is completely based on your companys policy!! I got FMLA leave at walmart and wasnt full time. But that isnt a paid leave its basically saying they wont terminate me for taking my leave. Im a full time employee at my office and when I took my maternity leave with them I got up to 16 weeks unpaid leave. Same deal, they had to hold a position similar to the one I had...but not even my same shift. Being part time I can almost guarantee you they wont pay you for leave, but they shouldnt be able to terminate you for being pregnant....tread carefully with this one..I would ask to speak to an HR person or see an employee hand book!
