  • Yes, BUT, those countries are finally comprehending that socialism is NOT a successful long-term model, and as a result are moving AWAYfrom socialism, towards what literally DOES work....capitalism!!

Unfortunately, the American government and so-called Progressives, are incapable of seeing this trend, and are determined to tear this country down. When more people are dependent on the government than there are people financially supporting the government, the system implodes....just like Greece, France, Spain and the UK!

Well, there seems to be a lot of countries that have something to do with socialism.

  • Far as I know there has never been a truly Socialist or Communist country, just dictatorships that fake it.

  • Sure it does. LOok at all the public assistance programs we have in America, that's socialism. Capitalism does work well....assuming it's a pure capitalsm (i.e. risk = reward, the market-undesired get weeded out), the problem is government tempers with that concept, such as artificially keeping the interest rate low, or bailing out the big banks, GM, etc. On top of that, we also get a bunch of greedy bastxxrds who don't play by the rules. Hence the mess we are in currently.

  • Yes, but it depends on what definition you use for 'socialism.' If you check wiki you can find a list of countries who deem themselves to be socialist and/or communist.

  • Socialism can work with capitalism mixed with it.  PA, taxes to pay for roads, schools, etc.

  • It depends on what you mean by socialism.

There are a lot of political economies that function differently than ours.
