  • I don't. I say MERRY CHRISTMAS because it's Christmas.

  • I live in Los Angeles, there are so many people here of so many different religions, that I do try to be respectful if I don't know what religion they are. Otherwise, I do say Merry Christmas.

  • Because I am talking about all holidays in Dec and Jan not just Christmas

  • I say Happy Holidays because X-mas is not Christs birthday. Don't know how many times that has been stated. Also because it is a time that many people celebrate many holidays and though I not a Christian anymore I was brought up to act like a Christian - well I guess now tolerance, love, and peace are not Christian qualities so much.

  • To me, Happy Holidays means you are wishing people a happy holiday SEASON..which to me encompasses the time period from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. (and all those holidays that fall in between those days no matter WHAT you celebrate). I feel kind of lame wishing my Jewish friends Merry Christmas! Just because I celebrate Christmas doesn't mean every one does or should. So I think its just polite to say Happy Holidays unless you know for sure what holidays the person celebrates.

  • Two reasons, I don't celebrate Christmas & I don't know what someone else celebrates... Happy Holidays covers everything...
