Anyone lactose intolerant? (Random question from curiosity)

How old were you when you developed it?/Were you born with it? How bad is it? What foods/drinks can you have/can you NOT have? What do you use as a substitute for milk?

  • I got it when I was about 19/20. Cant eat ice cream, drink milk, or cheese. Basically dairy. But I do it anyways and end up having to pay the price.

  • I dont know what age for sure. I was a young child though when we figured it out. Probably between 6 & 8. I shouldn't eat ice cream, drink milk or have cheese. I say "shouldn't" because I do eat cheese. I pay for it though! I don't really care to drink milk much anyway but if I feel like I want some I buy either soy milk or Lactaid brand (or some equivalent to it). Bryers makes lactose free ice cream that is really good too. I get that sometimes.

  • Yes I am. However, it took me many years to realize what the problem was.
