How old were your children when they started losing teeth?

My ds isn't quite 5 yet and he lost his 2nd tooth last night! It seems kinda early to us!

  • My DD was 7 when she first lost her teeth! She is almost 9 now & has only lost 4 teeth. The two top front & the two bottom front. Her dentist actually said it's a sign of healthy teeth & i should be glad. He said it means she has good root structure in her mouth & it means she has strong teeth, which she does. She still has never had one cavity.

I told him that i was worried adult teeth would push through before the other ones came out, he said not to worry about those things & that we'll deal with it when & if it happens. He said his children also lost teeth later than most kids. It's a sign of healthy teeth, so be glad.

  • My older kids didnt lose any till they were 5 or 6. But my daughter who is 5 now began losing teeth at 4. She is now 5 1/2 & has lost 6 teeth already. Three since Halloween. I do believe it's a bit early but then again she has done every thing early so far. She walked at 10 mo. Guess she's just in a hurry to grow up. lol

  • My kids were older when they started losing their teeth. They say that it goes along with when they started getting teeth. So if he got teeth at a young age then he might start losing them earlier then other children. My kids didn't get their teeth until they were older closer to 8 months, and I think they were in second grade before they started losing them.

I would not worry to much!
