how do i keep my 2 year old from digging in the trash

she keeps digging in the trash! it seems the only thing i can do is tie up the bag to keep her from digging in it, and thats annoying cause every time i need to throw something away i have to untie it!

  • Put a childproof latch on the trash can.

  • We put a gate in the opening of the kitchen, so he's rarely in there with us anymore. Also, we bought a trash can that has a locking latch at the top, so it won't spill if it's knocked over. We can still unlock and open it with one hand, when we put stuff in it. If he's near it, he can still manage to unlock it and open it, but it slows him down enough that I usually catch him trying before he actually gets into it.
