  • Mary was also Jewish. And the pictures you see are artists' representations; she may or may not have looked anything like what you see in them.

  • Mary was from the Jewish religion. It was foretold in the Old testament that the savior would come from lineage of Abraham and David as an inheritance and promise God made to these men he so loved and favored, He promised them redemption and eternal life to a naiton he loved through the sacrifice of His only son, THE PERFECT LAMB, Christ Jesus,, They no longer had to sacrifice a real lamb for the forgiveness of sins.

  • Mary was Jewish and mostly likely dressed nothing like all "pictures" of her. Artists paint from what they know, from what is familiar to them. That is why she is represented in the manner that she is.

  • Mary was Jewish, and would have dressed accordingly. Unless you're finding photographs from a time before the invention of cameras, any depiction of Mary is going to be purely imaginative. However, a great many of them are historically accurate. Nun "outfits" are in fact based, at least loosely, on the garb of the early Christians, and of course the Jews which predated them. If anything, they dress like Mary, not the other way around.

  • Mary was Jewish, therefore handing Jesus his Jewish Rite, as one can only be truly Jewish through the birth from a Jewish woman. So, here's the irony...the Jewish culture/faith does belive in Jesus, it does not belive that Jesus was/is the Messiah. They believe he was merely a prophet and that the true Messiah is yet to come.
