  • My mother's advice was to never bring another woman into my home. So I'd have a really old ugly babysitter so I wouldn't have to worry.

As far as the kids go, I really don't trust anybody except family with them. I don't even let them hang out at my friends homes without me.

  • if you have a husband or boyfriend that will be around. Why do you need a babysitter?

  • we use either family, trusted friends (all married) or teenage daughters of friends for babysitters, so not really an issue. Plus my husband and I have a strong relationship and we trust each other so cheating isn't a concern.

  • I do background checks and reference checks on all of my babysitters so that's a pretty good indication of whether they are trustworthy and I also interview them before they babysit for me.

As for the worrying about whether my husband would cheat on me with my sitter....the thought has never crossed my mind. I am confident in my marriage.

  • Hire someone around 12 or 13; who has her babysitting credentials from Red Cross. or hire an older woman who is looking for a couple extra bucks. If you can't trust your husband/boyfriend than you have bigger problems than getting a babysitter.
I have found the younger girls to be more reliable than an older teen. They are much more conscientious and better babysitters.
