Did you go over your budget Christmas shopping this year

I don't think I did, but once everything gets added up I'm sure I did. I ended up getting everything either on sale, clearance, or discounted. And managed to pick myself up a present too. So if I did go over budget it was well worth it =)

  • I did. I got some great deals, and thought I was ok, but DH did some shopping as well, so we ended up having to raise the dollar amount for all the kids. We usually do pretty well, just got our wires crossed this year :)

  • @ Scuba: Same here I'm saying I'm done & Hubby says he hasn't started yet, LoL!!! He says there's a few things he wants to pick up for our son. Just praying it's nothing that I already got him =)

  • I don't usually set a formal budget. I just watch for deals and try to opt for less expensive gifts. I also started shopping early so we wouldn't be paying for it all at once.

  • @ HotMama330: I started shopping for my son in the Summertime, but I also do that b/c his Birthday is December 30th & I don't want to be strapped trying to buy everything at once.

  • I still have 2 more gifts to get, but considering the items I plan to buy, I expect to be a few dollars under or right on my budget.

  • Nope. I spent just enough and got gifts I did not expect to find.

  • Not yet! But I think we might need to up it a little since we changed our minds on some things...

  • We did not go over the budget yet but still have about 6 gifts to get. Everything was on sale and I am trying not to buy anything for the new baby yet but still got some stuff. My son , nephews, and nieces have all their wants and needs . Nothing yet for the adult in our lives but I am praying $500 stretches with the upcoming sales.

  • Yup, we have no budget because we do not buy gifts. We celebrate family instead, it is awesome. Great food, great visit. Awesome Awesome Awesome. No stress, no gifts people dont want anyway. Awesomeness!
