How long can a baby be exclusively breastfed before....

  • It's going to be different for each child. My youngest was 9mos before he ever had anything "solid" and even at that it was only one "meal" a day until he was over a year.

  • Babies do not need supplemental nutrition (including water, juice, rice cereal or baby food) until around their first birthday.

  • 6 months to 2 years. But for women in the USA it is socially 'acceptable' to start 6 months to 1 year.
