  • Your husband is wrong.
I am a SAHM. Hubby works.
    We file married/joint.

  • whether you work or not you still file, so it's married filing jointly. If he files as married filing separately and head of household, he's not going to get as much money back.

  • Your hubby is wrong, wrong, wrong! If you are married and 1 works and the other doesn't you file Married Filing Jointly or you can file Married filing separate, buy why?. Head of Household is for Single individuals with dependants, Don't tell me he lists you in the children column as that would get you both into big trouble.  It's probably time to seek help from a Tax Accountant before you get into too much trouble!

  • My Hubby's self employed, I'm a SAHM, and we file EVERY year MARRIED FILING JOINT. We also use a very reputable CPA, and she's never steered us wrong.

  • You both file jointly. you file as a home maker.

  • Jointly. List yourself as a homemaker. Our accountant said theres about a $2,000.00 difference when we asked her this question the first year we were married.
