Wedge flip flops with black cocktail dress???

We are going to a party tomorrow night and we were just going casual. Now hubby says he wants to dress up. I have a black cocktail dress but no shoes! I own some black hi-flip flops things. Can I get away with wearing those?? Tacky, huh??? I don't want to buy hi-heels.

  • No way! You cannot wear flip flops!

  • Yeah might be, depends how dressy the dress is and it sounds pretty dressy. Can you run by Pay less and get something in between a high heel and a flat that you can wear either way later. I know, then can I watch you pull a rabbit out of your hat,,,lol good luck

  • No. No flip-flops. Low heeled dressy shoes.
    Flip flops are beach wear.

  • I'd have to see them, but I think you could get away with it

  • Well, it depends. Are they the foam material? If so, I don't know. If I were to where them, I'd probably glue on some sort of rhinestones or something, to dress them up a little. :)

  • if they are dressy thongs you can pull it off. If they loook like flip flops go get a cheap pair of shoes

  • If you can, go buy flats that will work fine.

  • I understand not wanting to buy a pair of heels. If you are OK with flip flops then wear them. Personally, I wouldn't wear flip flops with any kind of dress other than a sundress.
