  • it is never the same from year to year, as family members can not always "come home" at the same time each year. this year, for example, we're spending Christmas Eve with friends, Christmas Day we will probably just sit at home, open gifts with our own kids, play with their new stuff, etc, we do have an extended family gathering that night that we will probably go to. we will have 2 family gatherings the week after Christmas. our church's Christmas program is the Sunday before, i am not sure if we have church on Christmas Eve evening or Christmas morning but we'll go.
