When did your child start brushing their teeth?

  • alone? 2 years old. I check but he does a great job. He is not 4 and awesome at it. I started brushing them with a cloth arund 3 months b/c he got his first tooth then.

  • As soon as they started popping up...but they didn't start doing it on their own (with my supervision) until 2....

  • Do you mean her own teeth? I used to brush her gums with one of those little grippy brushes that fit to your fingers. I also brushed her teeth for her until recently. I still watch her do it to be sure she is doing it correctly and have begun teaching her to use mouth wash. She wil be 4 at the end of December.

  • I started wiping his gums from birth. Around 1 he got his first toothbrush and non flouride toothpaste. Now at 2 he brushes first (Which means sucks on the toothpaste and plays in the water), then it's mommy's turn.

  • 2ish is when HE started having time to 'brush' his teeth. He is 3 1/2 now and he brushes first, then I brush.

  • Around 18 months. Before that I'd kind of rub them with a wash cloth.
