how to potty train a three year old

I have a three year old nephew who refuses to use the potty most of the time. He is is pullups and will hide to go potty in them. We have tried so many different things and we are at our wits end. Any suggestions.

  • Get rid of the pullups and switch to regular underwear. Yeah, there will be a bit of laundry for awhile, but if he can't get away with the underwear catching the mess like the pullup does, more than likely he'll be less comfortable doing that and willing to give the potty a try.

  • Losttheslipper is absolutely right. When we finally got rid of the pullups, our twins were potty trained within a week. It was messy at first, but it worked.
