Easy Way Out?

Isn't Christianity really the easy way out? In Judaism (which is where Christianity claims to come from) you had to work for your salvation really. You weren't born into automatic salvation by some major sacrifice.

  • No its not. There are still certain expectations to live up to.

  • What expectations? All you have to do is say you believe in God and Jesus. You can do that on your deathbed and God is still supposed to take you in no questions asked.

  • If you think Christianity is easy, then you don't know what Christianity is.

Now if you are asking if Christianity is a simple answer? Yes ... it's simple; not easy.

  • Wow, are you misinformed. Nobody is automatically saved because Christ died on the cross. He sacrifice is the doorway to salvation. Christ is the mediator between us and God. The bible has very specific steps you must follow to achieve salvation. In order to get to heaven you must do more than hear, believe, repent, confess and be baptized. You MUST live faithfully. There is no 'easy way" It is work, hard work.

  • No, you must live your life according to the Word of God. Jesus talks about the people that "claim" to be Christian and do not live by His Word. He also talks about the people that will try to accept Him in the end. I am not sure where it talks about this in the Bible, I think it is in one of the Gospels, I keep thinking Mark.

  • It doesn't matter if ppl think it's the easy way out. It is what we believe in. We didn't pick it cause it's easy, we choose to love God and accept Him into our hearts and do our best to follow His Word. If we stray, sure it's easy to repent but that's not the point.

  • I don't think she was attacking. She is not Christian and does not understand our faith fully, and she wouldn't unless she believed like we did. A lot of Christian "knowledge" comes from within, when you have truly accepted Jesus in your heart as your Lord and personal Savior. We do not get our faith from a book, our faith is where Jesus lives.
