If you are a single child, I want your opinion, please...

Me and my husband my only have one child. But I fear it may be kind of lonely with out another sibiling. Me and my husband both have sibilings, so I can't answer this: As a single child do you wish you had sibilings to keep you company? Or were you just fine and happy with just having friends?

  • My neighbor has an only child, he is 18 years old. I asked him the same thing. He told he loves being an only child. He loved not dealing with a sibling, doing more things with his parents, etc. He also told that throughout his childhood he has NEVER been lonely. He starts Law school next Fall and he is very happy b/c his parents are moving with him. He is going 17 hours away to school.

Bestfriend is an only child. She loved it growing up. Had many wonderful memories with her friends and parents. She loved that her friends could come on family vacations with her. Her and her husband are only having one child.

For us, we will only be having one child. I will not have another child just to give my son a sibling. IF we wanted another child...it would be b/c we truly wanted that child. I grew up with 3 siblings. We have no relationship. One brother is 20 months younger than me. I am not happy that I have siblings.
