Anyone had to have there medication switched Lexapro to Citalopram?

My doctor just switched my medication from Lexapro(more expensive) to Citalopram (less expensive) for price difference I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen? What different side effects did you have from the switch? Witch did you like best? I liked Lexapro so I am hoping Citalopram works the same! I guess they are similar but have there differences! Just would like to hear others opinions! Thanks!

  • It doesn't work the same, at least it didn't for me. Lexapro just worked better. (I took it for about two years a while back.) I heard they came out with a generic Lex recently. Ask your pharmacist as I could be mistaken.
