Is it true that when ur stopping birthcontrol in the first month and get pregnant u have a very big percentage to have twins?

friends had said they we watchin a baby show and they said that there was a high percentage .

  • Sorry folks, but it is true. Getting pregnant in the 1st month after stopping the birth control pill has an increased chance of your having fraternal multiple birth children because as your body adjusts to not having the hormonal pills it can spit out more than one egg. Also, if you are one of the 1% that the pill fails for - like me - you have a much higher chance of having twins .... and I did.


    It was not a misunderstanding.

  • If it were that true, there would be more multiples. Lot's of people get pregnant right after stopping BC and don't have multiples. It's a theory, it's not proven.

  • There are more fraternal multiples today than there were before the pill. And a lot of the research on this so called "theory" was done by doctors and scientists through NOMOTC.

  • I doubt it. However, you're supposed to wait 3 months before even trying to concieve after stopping birth control to allow your body to return to it's natural cycle and lower your risk of birth defects.
