how son can you hear a babies heartbeat? Also once you hear the heartbeat is it true that the chance of miscarriage decreases?

  • At my ob you can hear the heartbeat with u/s around 6 weeks and with doppler around 10-12 weeks, depending on the thickness of the abd. According to textbook once you see a heartbeat it is less likely you will miscarry; however I saw my first baby's heartbeat on u/s at 8 weeks and miscarried at 10weeks.

  • I think the heart begins beating at 21 days.

    I don't believe heartbeat reduces the risk of miscarriage much.

  • IT doesn't decrease miscarriage. It's a wonderful sign to hear the heartbeat though.

  • around 7 weeks on ultraosound, the doppler its around 12 weeks , and i had seen my babys heart beat and still misscarried

  • I thnk you can hear the babies heartbeat starting around 10 weeks. your chances of miscarriage go down a lot once the first trimester ends.
