Worry or not?

I recently started spotting, and went to the ER. My doctor told me that there was a bleed behind the placenta. I had a follow-up ultrasound a week later, and have not heard any new from my OBGYN, but the baby is growing perfectly. Today, I started spotting again. I was told if that happened, to go straight to the ER. What do you think? Should I worry?

  • I wouldn't worry. The growing baby will continue to push the blood out. I had a similar experience with my first and third. If the bleeding is bright red or accompanied by cramping, then I'd call the doctor (or go to the ER since it is the weekend). If the spotting is dark or brown, it is old blood and not an active bleed.
