do your parents or inlaws help you to be a sahm?

example: giving you shopping money or making your car payment? buying the kids diapers and clothes etc.. anything? just curious? you can be anon if you wish. I know 2 people who are able to be sahm's because their parents help them. My inlaws help us a ton but not with monthly expenses.

  • Oh my no, they absolutely did not. We paid our own bills when my husband was alive, from before the time we were married until this very day. I am still able to be a sahm, because of the life insurance we had purchased. Certainly money is more of an issue now than it was when he was here, but we don't have our relatives helping in any sort of financial way at all.

  • No, and I wouldn't have it any other way. If I couldn't afford to be a sahm, I would return to work. I would not depend on others to pay my way in the world.

  • LMAO NO! If I couldn't afford my children I wouldnt have had them. It's unfair to them.

  • LMAO.. Are you kidding me? My MIL would have kicked my butt if I tried to stay at home. She was a single mother raising two kids and she worked multiple jobs, never went on welfare and NEVER relied on anyone for help. When my kids were little, I HAD to work full time to bring in benefits. My ex worked construction so he never was able to get benefits. Do I resent her?? Hell No. She became my idol.. may she rest in peace. I loved that woman!!

  • 100% yes yes yes yes. I am legally blind and cannot drive. Without some occasional help nothing would ever get done.

  • No- I'm a SAHM and have never gotten any kind of financial help from either my parents or my ILs. Our parents don''t even babysit for us more than once or twice a year. We've always made it okay on our own and that's how I like it.
