  • Your contractions will become regular, water could break, etc....

  • you'll know. It's not just pain. It's pressure. and in most cases some vaginal spotting(bloody show) from dilation.

  • Labor isn't painful. It's work. When you start feeling like your uterus is involved in a marathon you are in labor.

  • You may not, I had back labor and I didn't know, I just thought I had to take a poop (gross I know). Luckily my mom was there and she figured it out.

  • Your contractions will be regular and you'll feel them, don't worry. What I did was chart my contractions on paper all night and when they were so-many-minutes apart I started making preparations to go to the hospital.

  • None of these signs are absolute.
    You might not know~
By watching the frequency & intensity of the contractions (not pain) it usually becomes apparent.
Planning a homebirth can help make it easier.
