who is right me or DH...a banana debate

I want to make banana bread and he says it won't turn out because the banana's and still to yellow....he says they should be almost black

I say anytime they are turning brown is fine.

I have 10 banana's that are basically brown with hints of yellow left, I say they will do just fine

  • It will be fine either way, but if they are still 100% yellow it won't be very sweet. Your hubby probably just likes his banana bread sweet.

  • When they are starting to turn brown they are good to use. They just have to be over ripe. Anything beyond all yellow is over ripe! IMO.

  • They will be fine. The longer you wait the sweeter it will be. But sometimes too sweet is not a good thing.

  • You are right, just make sure you mash the bananas well so you don't end up with chunks.
