    washer/dryer demons

  • I was forever loosing them...maybe try washing them in a langerie bag

Answer by rebeccadac at 3:33 PM on Dec. 5, 2010

  • That happens to all my kids socks. I buy many pairs of the same socks. Like they will have 8 pairs of white children's place socks. That way if I loose some, it doesn't matter as much.

  • I have that problem with my own socks. I have no idea what happens to them, and there is no finding them.

  • While speculating about dryer fairies is fun, the fact is that the dryer (and washer) are in fact eating them: ask any repairman. If you want them back, take the cover off and pick them up off the floor of the machine. They do slip past the seals, which can't be super-tight or they wouldn't be able to move.

It can help if you put the socks (and other small items) into a lingerie bag.

  • I think they should make disposable baby socks, that would save me a lot of time
