  • Lots of signs; big signs which clearly state your address & times for the sale. Organize things (put like things together) spread things out a bit so its easy too browse. put prices on things. dont price things too high (sure you might of paid $50 new for an item but now its used and it is a garage sale after all!) the idea is to get rid of as much stuff as you can not to try to get a bunch of money out of each item. on the last day have a half price special. dont try to sell broken items (unless you clearly state its broken & might be fixed), stained/holey clothes, and stuffed animals really really dont sell that well (everybody wants to get rid of them!). start to set up EARLY because it really takes more time to set up then you think it will. have lots of change (go to bank day before & get $1, $5, few $10 & roll quarters, nickels, dimes)

  • oh and you might want to put an ad in the local paper (not a must but if you want to). also you can put it up on craig's list for free. have lots of sacks. Thur, fri & sat. are good days. sometimes sunday but dont expect many ppl until after church time.
