Quick opinions ladies?

Is giving a kid a mug of hot chocolate right before dinner a good idea or bad idea? I say it fills them up and then they don't want to eat. DH says otherwise. What do you guys think?

  • honestly it depends on the kid. it would not make a difference for my 5yo, but my 2yo would rather drink than eat anyway so that would be a bad idea for him lol

  • I agree with you, it will definitely spoil dinner!

  • Yes, it fills them up. It's also full of sugar, not the best thing to eat before dinner.

  • A cup of hot chocolate is not going to fill someone up enough that they won't eat dinner. I am with your husband. As a matter of fact, my son often has hot chocolate with his meal and he still eats well.

  • If its once in a while, I say no biggie. Maybe a treat on the weekend kind of thing but for sure not a regular thing.
