If a kid has a fever of 99.7 would you send them to school or is any fever a reason to keep your kid home?

  • I would keep them home, they are sick. Your kid may have a good antibodies but another kid may get really sick. My oldest hardly gets sick, but my youngest gets everything and it takes her along time to recover.

  • A fever is a fever. I would keep my child home for the next 24 hrs to monitor him. If he shows no sign of a fever after 24 hrs, he's sent to school the next day.

  • I ALWAYS KEEP MY GIRLS HOME WHEN THEY HAVE A FEVER.if you send them then most likely the school will be calling you to pick your child up anyway.

  • i would keep them home for a day. schools try to send kids home when the fever gets to 100 or close to it.

  • It would depend how he felt. A doctor would not consider that a fever. I would probably give Motrin and send them if they felt OK.

  • Yeah, I believe a fever is a reason to stay home. Always what I hear anyway!

  • I have a friend who's daughter got sent home with a "fever" of 99.1. I guess it's school policy, anyone over 99 gets sent home.

  • its a pretty low grade fever but if hes not running a fever come morning for school your probably ok. if he seems ill all night then you may want to keep him home.

  • Home. I don't want him to catch anything else while his immune system is down, give him the chance to rest and snuggle, and to monitor any other related symptoms. Low grade with another symptom could mean something signicant. This has been the case for my son more times than I can count. I do him, his school, and myself a favor.
