When you put a lot of effort into finding the right name for your dd ....

.... A name that's unique and sounds good. Have you considered the possibility of her gettign married one day and take on the guy's family name, which dosn't fit her first name at all?
What if she's called Savannah Cheyanne ... Cucumber or something? lol

  • That's a good thing to think about, but I never have.

  • I know my daughters name is beautiful, i would hate for her name to be messed up. but I guess i would care more about how nice her husband treats her.

  • Haha....I know a guy named Logan Logan. His mother re-married, and her husband adopted her boys and they took his last name which was Logan.

I stopped dating a guy when I found out his last name was Butts. I thought he was joking with me when he told me the first couple times. I couldn't marry a "Butts".

  • you cant predict what their married last name will be, so i wont take it into consideration. as long as their current name has a good flow, i think its alright.

  • LOL, it is something to think about although I didn't. My DD name is Jordan Elizabeth and I love it. I guess she will have to make whatever last name her future husband has work, either that or just keep her name. By the time she is old enough to get married maybe people will be taking the wife's last name. Ha Ha probably not.

  • I honestly never considered my daughter getting married. We just chose the name that seemed best for her, and Emmaleigh I would think is fairly versatile. Her middle names maybe not so much but, it is what it is and she'll cross that bridge way later down the line.
For myself I really wanted to ditch my maiden name becuase I have serious father issues, but I hated the way my name looked so I took to signing with my middle initial becuase for some reason to me it looks better. What's funny though is that my initials didn't change or anything, both were B names.

  • my first name doesn't work well with my married name. too many 'th' sounds. it's ok....i don't really care at all actually. and she could always keep her maiden name if it's that horrible to her.
