# How is your amount of time being pregnant calculated?

• I'm not totally sure about your question but it's 40 weeks. From the start of your last period to your 'due' date.

• If you mean by weeks of months, you are 20 weeks when the 20 weeks is complete, 5 months when the month is completed, et.c.

• average gestational period for a woman is 40 weeks. starts calculating from the first day of your last period and then they guess what your due date will be 40 weeks from that day.

• The way the doctor's calculate it is from the first day of your last period. Since most women don't actually conceive until about 2 weeks after that, when the doc says you are 8 weeks pregnant the baby is actually only 6 weeks old. Average gestation period of humans is 38-42 weeks from the first day our your last period if you have average 28 day cycles.
