  • My son was screened for autism when he was just 1 year old at the request of our pedi, but we were told he's not on the spectrum. My cousin's son is severely autistic and so is my friend's daughter. Also, as an elementary teacher, I work with many children on various levels of the spectrum. So many children have autism...our school just had to add on an extra autistic support classroom b/c the others were so full.

  • It does not affect me thankfully. But, I know others that it does and its def a struggle. They really need to find the actual cause instead of having parents worry about every vax, food or environment. Its a shame and some day we will know...hopefully

  • Why the vote down? OP asked how it affects ME! It's not my child. It doesnt have a personal affect on my life. Do I feel bad for them? Sure. But OP didnt ask how I FELT you ask how it affects me. It does not directly affect MY life.
