Yule is the Heathen holiday where you decorate a tree and your home with evergreen, bake lots of bread and cookies, then have everyone you know over for a giant party until the log burns out (which, since we don't have a fireplace, we have to improvise). Other religions have borrowed it and tweaked it here and there. Some Pagans have their own variation on the Solstice, and most Christians have a version they call Christmas. Traditional Yule lasts about 12 days, or longer, if the party goes longer.

I usually get Oliver Camelot Mead, but I don't know if it's available everywhere - it's from a local winery. If you're anywhere near OH/IN, there's an annual mead tasting festival and competition in Ft. Wayne.
