what age is a good age to start time out?

My Son will be two this weekend and he throws temper tantrums. I would like to start a time out but I am afriad he may be to young to understand the punishment.

  • Every child is different. But it is never to early to start some type of structure. If he understands than I would do it.

  • My son started getting them at daycare once he moved to the one year room so we decided to follow through and be consistent at home. 1 minute for 1 year old, 2 minutes for 2 year old, etc.

  • We started at 17 months. 2 is not too young.

  • I think 2 is a good age a 1 year old still cant comprehened what time out means they wont stay in time out .
