What is the difference between Hanukkah and Chanukah?

  • According to my co-worker (who is Jewish), the spelling difference is basically a trend and whichever one tends to be more "in" at the moment. (When she was growing up, it was always spelled with a C, but now she says she always sees it with an H.) It has to do with differences in translation from the Hebrew.
